Ever Wonder If You're Doing Okay as a Parent? Read This

A parent playing lovingly with a baby on a play mat

It's morning. I get you out of bed and get you dressed. Does this outfit still fit well, or has it gotten a bit too snug? I decide to grab a different pair of trousers after all.

Downstairs, we have some fruit purée. You tuck in happily, but I still ask: do you like it? Thankfully, you finish it all. Afterwards, I crawl under the table and play peekaboo about thirty times, just to hear your little laugh.

While you're playing on the mat, I hear you babbling - do you like this toy, or would you rather play with something else? You start laughing happily. I lie down beside you and stroke your little head.

In the afternoon, we head outside. The sun is shining, it's nice and warm. I've creamed you up well and put on a sun hat. You go in the pram and off we go. Are you not too warm like this? I walk back for the little parasol, and quickly grab your bottle of water too.

After the vegetable purée, a warm bath, a story, and lots of kisses, I put you to bed. Sleep tight, sweetheart, see you tomorrow. Half an hour later, I sneak a peek around the corner. You're happily sucking your thumb, your cuddly toy in your other hand. You look content.

Yes. I'm doing this right.
